Dunster Show- A real hit!
If you were visiting the Dunster area recently, perhaps staying in one of the lovely Exmoor holiday cottages and made the trip to what marked this year’s 167 th annual Dunster show at Dunster Castle Lawns then you would know just what a success it was! Many locals and holiday-makers alike enjoyed what was on offer over the two days with the show managing to get a massive 7,000 people through the gate on top of the 3,000 members who were in attendance too and organisers are confident that they tallied 10,000 people on the day. Showing of livestock was a major part of the show with classes for horses, cattle and sheep as it is every year.
For those that attended, they were fortunate to witness a showcase of top-class breeds in Sheep, Horses, and Cattle. This was not the only area of the show that left people impressed, as the crowds were treated to a spectacle of tricks and stunts from The Devil’s Horsemen, Michael Davies’ Falconry display, to the Avon Glen Pipes and Drums and the Tone Valley Jazzmen providing the musical entertainment. The working gun dog display was also a big hit with the crowds too.
The weather helped largely this year when it came to people showing up on the day with the rain staying at bay and the sun shining down on the event which was a pleasing for all concerned.
