Porlock Arts Festival Returns
Porlock is once again holding its largely successful arts festival again this year. If you’re planning on a Somerset holiday this September then Porlock’s arts festival could be just the thing to keep you entertained during your stay.
The event which is held over four days, set in the quaint and delightful Somerset village within the setting of the famous Exmoor National Park will host a wide range of activities including an Author’s Book Fair, a drum and percussion workshop provided by Drumnation and a visit to Glenthorne Museum.
The Tea Dance is sure to attract people who are keen dancers or those simply looking to learn some steps. With music provided by Richard Monks for ballroom, Latin and sequence dances, what more exciting way to spend an afternoon?
There will also be an evening with Clive Swift, most famous for his acting in the popular BBC sitcom ‘Keeping up Appearances’ as Richard Bucket. Elaine Feinstein will also be speaking at the evening’s event, and being one of the most influential literary figures of recent times she is certain to shed some light on the world of literacy through her recently publish memoirs.
Following the Tea Dance will be the Help for Heroes Charity Dinner at the Culbone Inn. Special guest Sergeant Dave Heyhoe and his dog Treo will be in attendance to speak about their harrowing story of saving lives during their service in Afghanistan. An opportunity to ask questions will be available and there will also be a Charity auction on the night and goody bags to take home with you.
Date: 12th - 15th September 2013
